Resting time.

Barbara nodded. "Yeah..." She said, as they made their way up the stairs of the entrance.

"So... how're things in Metropolis?" She asked, wanting to make small talk as they were looking for the rooms.

"I wonder if we're assigned rooms?" She wondered out loud.

They started passing rooms with names on them. "Well, what do you know?"

"Here we are." She said, opening the door to the room that said "Superman".

Clark smiled and followed her inside, "Well at least it looks hospitable." He said dryly and then sighed. "Everything was all right when I left although I broke up with Lois before I got taken. She must think the worst of me." He admitted.

Barbara's eyes widened "You broke up with Lois?" She asked, surprised.

"Um, if you don't mind my asking, what happened? Last time I saw you two, things were going well." She said, taking off her mask.

She shook her red hair out a bit, feeling better behind closed doors.

He sighed and then smiled as he watched her take off her mask, "Well we were starting to drift apart especially when I became more involved with the League. So a few days ago we parted ways." He said simply.

"Ah... I guess I can see that happening..." Barbara said, turning to him.

"How're you feeling?" She asked.

Clark rubbed the back of his neck and sat down on a chair, "Well...it'll take me awhile to adjust to this, but I can handle it. So how were things in Gotham?" He asked curiously.

She shrugged. "Things have been... normal, I guess. Not much else going on but taking down the Joker and everyone..." She said, leaning on her hand.

"How they keep getting out of Arkam, I'll never know." She said, shaking her head.

Clark shrugged, "I'm amazed they keep finding new ways to escape...but then with the Joket still around, I shouldn't be surprised. So besides the less then desirable nightlife, how have you been?" He asked.

Barbara smiled a little. "Not too bad. I just finished college, so no worries about that until I go back to get my Masters. What about you? Besides the break up with Lois, I mean..."

Clark looked down, "Well things at the Planet were going pretty well, I was supposed to be in Africa to cover some news about local riots there with Lois. With her luck she'll probably wind up offending the locals and getting herself arrested. Although in some ways I'm slightly grateful I won't be the one who has to bail her out." He admitted with a shake of his head. He had to admit the times he had saved Lois far outnumbered anyone else he had ever rescued.

Barbara winced a little. "Well, she's done things without you before... She should be fine..." She said, hoping she was right.

"Sometimes we need a break from being heroes... Though, we don't always get that..." She said, slumping a little.

"Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't change becoming Batgirl for anything; I love it!" She said, talking with her hands a bit. "Everyone needs a break from something they love doing..."

He studied her silently for a moment and then gave her a slow small smile, "Barbara, you are one of the best fighters Gotham has...with that said I think Bruce would be fine if you decided to take a break. After all Bruce has other people who can step up to handle things if you do decide to take a break." He said simply.

She smiled, feeling herself blush a little. She moved some of her hair away from her face. "Thanks, though, knowing Bruce, he'll do it himself... When you're away from him for a little bit, he kind of shuts you out again..." She said, looking a little glum.

She looked back at Clark, and gave him a smile. "So, mister Bachelor, what are you going to do now that you're single?" She asked, giving him a mischievous smile.

Cark smiled and looked down, "Uh well I don't know...I guess start dating?" He ended the phrase making it sound like a question, then he gave her a small smile. "I've never really dated much though....besides Lois anyway." He admitted with a blush.

Barbara laughed a little. "I guess that would make sense." She said, tilting her head.

She looked at him a bit surprised. "Didn't you date that designer; Lana Lang back in high school?" She asked, before getting a look from Clark.

She held her hands up innocently. "Bruce told me, he says Lois told him." She said, shrugging.

Clark sighed, "Of course Lois told him." He growled and then sighed, "Yeah I dated her...there was a time when I actually considered asking her to marry me...but yeah I uh changed my mind." He said and rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.

Barbara gave him a half smile; he was pretty cute when he was awkward or shy.

"Well, that just shows she wasn't the one for you either." She stated, leaning back in her chair.

He glanced over at her and then down again fairly quickly his face becoming red once more. "Yeah...I think I'm just socially awkward." He said lightly but with some seriousness.

Barbara shook her head. "I don't think so." She said, smiling.

"The right woman has to come along for you. I don't know how you feel about God and Jesus, but I feel He has someone in mind for you." She said, giving her opinion.

He smiled, "Maybe you're right....so what about you? Have you been dating anyone?" He asked curiously, figuring it was ok to ask as she had asked him.

"Not recently." She admitted. "I dated Dick for awhile, but... it didn't work out with us." She said, shrugging.

"Dated a little after him, but no one really stuck, you know? Besides, I don't want anyone I'm dating to get hurt, so why do it?" She asked, looking at her hands in her lap.

Clark frowned, "I was like that when I first started dating Lois, she was like some ridiculous danger magnet. So at first I distanced myself but in the end it dawned on me that I wasn't going to go anywhere in a relationship if I didn't at least try. Of course we broke up but I did try....but you should start dating Barbara, who knows maybe the guy for you is here somewhere." He said quietly.

Barbara gave a shrug. "Maybe... Who knows? Maybe I was brought here to meet the guy meant for me." She said, joking.

"Maybe the same goes for you, Clark." She said, smiling.

He looked down and blushed, "Yeah well I guess we'll find out huh?" He asked with a small smile as he looked back up at her.

She smiled back at him. He stared into his blue eyes for a moment, before clearing her throat. "Um, you feeling all right?" She asked, standing up.
